Custom In-House Training (CIT)
Want to put together a days worth of training for employees but don't have the time? Have the time but not the in-house experience? Do you have vendors willing to come in and speak but no one to pull it all together? This is where APR's CIT program can help.
Custom-in-house training programs and seminars are a logical fit, be it for new or experienced employees, designers, prepress operators, press operators, mounters, customers, sales, or anyone involved in your workflow. Working with our customers, we have had tremendous success in developing formal training programs to fit their individual needs. We will then conduct the training for specific individuals or groups and varying shifts depending on the customer's requirements. By offering these customized training programs we are able to target specific needs and develop and implement a curriculum that reflects each customers' production environment.
Designing A Custom Fit
After assessing your current workflow and using the results from a preliminary questionnaire, together we design a curriculum molded to fit your situation. Based on the topics you choose we tailor the training to your area of greatest need. These topics could include, but are not limited to, understanding design and production art development for flexographic printing, color management and characterizations, graphics applications, ink chemistry and the importance of viscosity control, plate-making and mounting, choosing doctor blade materials, selecting an ink pump, choosing appropriate anilox roll specifications, and/or integrating the FlexSys simulator as a training resource.
Pulling It All Together
Once the program curriculum is outlined we can take it from there. We will pull together all required materials and implement the program to include: pre-training assessments, instructor and trainee packets, product graphics, visual aids, workbooks and practice activities, and post-training assessments. If required, we will also work your specific vendors into the program if their product, process, or expertise necessitates we do so.
Hands-On Printing Experience
Our organization maintains a staff of individuals with experience in all the technical areas of flexographic printing from prepress through production. This experience comes not only from the sale of flexographic supplies and equipment, but is more so due to the fact that the majority of APR employees come from within the printing industry. Our staff includes former training developers, press operators, Mac operators, and pre-press and press room managers. Our collective experiences and knowledge set us apart as a supplier to the Flexographic Industry.
Blended Learning
Today's technological advancements have given us a whole new toolset to provide more efficient, cost effective, and customizable solutions to meet many training requirements.
The term "blended learning" is used to describe a solution that combines several different delivery methods, such as collaboration software, web-based courses, and knowledge management practices. It also describes learning that mixes various event-based activities, including face-to-face classrooms, live e-learning, and self-paced learning.
At APR, we have begun to incorporate blended based learning programs, such as webinars, self-paced online courses, online activities for pre- and post-training, and utilization of state-of-the-art press simulators.
